Hi, I’m Sarah, the owner of SoPressed! 💅

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved painting nails—first my own, and (much to her patience) often making a mess of my mum’s nails when I was little 🫣.

As I grew older, I experimented with every nail product I could get my hands on: acrylics, poly gel, gel polish—you name it. More recently I got into doing Gel-X on myself, and while I loved the process, there was always one big hurdle… painting with my non-dominant hand (if you know, you know).

That’s when I started creating my own press-ons, long before they became the trend they are today. Using full-cover tips on stands meant I could design freely without the left-hand struggle.

This year, seeing handmade press-ons grow in popularity reignited that passion. I went down the YouTube and TikTok rabbit hole—researching nail tips, gel polishes, packaging, e-commerce platforms, and everything in between. Before long, I’d stocked up on Gels, Après tips, and all the tools I needed to start my own press-on nail journey.

I slowly began sharing my creations on TikTok, and to my surprise, I discovered I didn’t just enjoy making nails—I also loved making content. From quick TikToks to longer YouTube videos, I found joy in sharing my process, tips, and experiments with others.

Now, I’m challenging myself to grow SoPressed into more than just a press-on shop. I’m also creating content that’s informative, fun, and transparent about what it’s really like to start a press-on nail business from scratch.
